Social Work Practice in Egg Donation Treatment Oocyte recipient couples (Counseling and Assessment) People who have indications for use of donor oocytes are referred to the Social Work Unit, Royan Infertility Center. The people attending social work unit, will be offered counseling services in third-party reproduction such as decision-making counseling to use a donor, grief and emotional preparation counseling by a social worker. their questions and doubts regarding genetic, legal, religious, psychological, and social issues related to treatment are also answered.
In addition, the potential recipients couples will undergo a psychosocial assessment process according to Royan guidelines.
Oocytes donors (Counseling and Assessment) Oocyte donors are initially evaluated by a social worker in order to determine her suitability (psychosocial status) as a provider of oocytes to others. In addition, provided counseling services including information counseling and discussing different aspects of oocyte donation in counseling session such as social, emotional, social and cultural and legal aspects.
