Necessary Instructions after Embryo Transfer:
For IVF or ICSI, the woman is stimulated with injectable medications to develop multiple eggs. Eggs develop in follicles in the ovaries. When the follicles are mature, the egg retrieval procedure removes eggs from the ovaries. Sperm is added to the eggs and the next day we check the eggs for evidence of fertilization. Embryos formed during IVF or ICSI cycles are graded based on division speed, cytoplasm clarity, and cell categories. The number of transferred embryos varies according to the age of the woman, the condition of the uterus and the quality of the embryos.

An appropriate number of embryos are transferred to the uterus several days later using ultrasound guidance for best placement. Actually, the developed embryo is transferred to the mother’s womb using a narrow tube called a catheter. After short rest women will discharge from Royan Institute.

Medicines taken after embryo transfer:
Many women need to keep taking progesterone hormone by injection/oral or suppositories in the early weeks after the transfer to give their pregnancy the best chance to continue. Progesterone is an important hormone that’s critical to sustaining a pregnancy, which is why it’s typically used in assisted reproduction like IVF or ICSI. It plays a significant role in the growth of uterine layers to replace the fetus and reduce uterine contraction, it also helps the embryo implant (and stay implanted) in the uterus. You can take medicinal supplements and other required drugs such as folic acid and vitamin D according to the doctor’s prescription.

Physical activities:
There is no need to absolute rest, you can do normal activities after 3 days. Avoid doing heavy work.

Bathing after embryo transfer:
You can take a shower after embryo transfer.

Travel:
You can return to your country by any type of vehicle after embryo transfer. Avoid using the bus for the long distances. For long distance, you should walk for a few minutes every one hour.

Sex:
Abstinence any sexual activity after embryo transfer. Actually sexual intercourse can trigger uterine contractions, which can disrupt the embryo that was just transferred into your body.

Diet:
You don’t need any special diet, unless you have an ovarian hypertrophy that in this situation your doctor will give you a diet program. Ideally, you can eat a variety of fruits and vegetables, as well as foods rich in calcium, protein, B vitamins, and iron. Even if you’re eating healthy, though, go ahead and add a prenatal vitamin to your routine.
